The Perimenopause

The perimenopause can be no less distressing than the menopause itself but is less well understood and researched. It is for this reason that Climacteric, the official journal of the International Menopause Society, will be publishing a special themed edition on this topic in 2026.

It is our intention that this special issue will cover a broad range of topics, from social and health implications to the management of more severe symptoms. The issue will contain a set of invited reviews on fundamental aspects of the perimenopause and future directions and will also contain new submitted material that will be fully peer reviewed.

We are delighted that this special issue will be produced by two eminent guest editors, Professor Rossella Nappi, President of the IMS, and Professor Nanette Santoro, President elect of the Endocrine Society.
