ECCC 2026 - 7th Conference: Creep & Fracture in High Temperature Components, Design & Life Assessment
The 7th ECCC Conference "ECCC 2026" is being held on 18-20 May 2026 in Aix en Provence, France close to the CEA research center of Cadarache and of the ITER fusion energy site (with a visit planned). Detailed information can be found at https://eccc2026.org . Papers for conference are sought on a wide range of topics with a focus on metallic materials and their coatings used at high temperatures and subjected to creep, fatigue and fracture. Materials development, testing, design and life assessment topics are covered, with an emphasis on fossil and nuclear power generation, but including petrochemical and other industries.
As in previous ECCC conferences, papers can be submitted to the Conference Proceedings, that is published electronically with an ISBN number and will be available at the start of the conference. Or, conference papers of a sufficient standard can instead be submitted for publication in an ECCC 2026 Special Issue of Materials at High Temperatures. An Extended Abstract of 3-5 pages (a description of the work, but without key results) must also be made available for the Conference Proceedings.
The ECCC 2026 Conference comes at a key point in our use of high temperature materials: never has there been a greater need to understand the behaviour of materials in assets close to the end of life, under flexible operation conditions; whilst being able to develop and understand newer materials for a 60 year operation in nuclear plant.
Submission Instructions
Please submit your Abstract via the ECCC 2026 website: https://eccc2026.org/instructions-to-authors . When doing so, make clear that you intend to submit the full paper to the journal Materials at High Temperatures (MHT) separately, and instead of having the full paper published in the Proceedings. Your Abstract will be reviewed by the conference Scientific Committee, and if accepted for inclusion in the Conference, you should:
- Submit an Extended Abstract to via the eccc2026.org website, giving details of the work performed, but without including key results - these will be only included in the full paper submitted to MHT
- Separately, submit your full paper to the MHT journal, where it will be reviewed by MHT appointed editors.
Please remember to register for the conference (either Proceedings or MHT papers cannot be accepted without registration), and note the two separate submission paths/ timescales for the full paper.
