Microwave and Radiofrequency Drying

This special issue will focus on microwave and radiofrequency drying, a vital technology across various sectors, including pharmaceuticals, food processing, biotechnology, and materials science.

We aim to compile cutting-edge research and development that propels microwave and radiofrequency drying science and its applications forward.

Advancements in areas such as process modeling, scale-up strategies, energy efficiency, and quality control within this field are of particular interest.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Fundamentals of microwave and radiofrequency drying processes
  • Dielectric properties measurement
  • Process optimization and control
  • Energy and cost efficiency improvements
  • Novel equipment and technologies
  • Applications in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, foods, and other sectors
  • Modeling, simulation and scale-up strategies
  • Quality assurance and regulatory aspects

We encourage both original research articles and comprehensive review articles.
