Special Collection 2025: The value of CME/CPD
We are delighted to announce JCME's sixth Special Collection "The value of CME/CPD".
Aims and scope
The goal of this special collection is to highlight the tremendous value CME and CPD offers to healthcare professionals and organisations in improving patient care.
We are specifically seeking manuscripts that address, but are not limited to, the following categories:
- Leveraging and improving interprofessional teamwork: Effective care necessitates effective teamwork and education improves and optimises interprofessional teamwork.

Ensuring effectiveness, quality and safety of care: CME/CPD that improves performance of healthcare professionals, teams and caregiving organisations.

Improving patient or community health: CME/CPD is linked to advancing care goals, extending preventative care and addressing community health concerns.

Advancing innovations and emerging science: education is a catalyst to disseminate knowledge and accelerate adoption of innovations.

Enhancing efficiency and cost effectiveness: Includes avoiding unnecessary procedures or treatments, minimising hospital readmissions and optimising workflows in care settings.

Improving engagement: CME/CPD is a catalyst for organisational improvement and decreasing burnout of health professionals.

Trusted resource: CME/CPD is the mechanism to ensure content integrity and independence from commercial influence.
Submission Instructions
Who should submit?
Authors from a wide range of stakeholders in continuing education are encouraged to submit to this special collection. CME and CPD are critical to the ongoing development of healthcare professionals and improvement of organisations to ensure trusted, effective and safe care is provided.
Sharing the evidence that demonstrates this value is the feature of this special collection.
Authors are welcome to discuss their ideas and/or manuscript with the editorial team prior to submission.
