Research progress in Monkeypox

Monkeypox (Mpox) has emerged as a global zoonotic disease. Between January 2022 & August 2024, over 100 000 laboratory-confirmed cases have been reported and over 220 deaths among confirmed cases. The World Health Organisation has declared the current Mpox outbreak a public health emergency of international concern.

To aid the discoverability of Mpox research, Emerging Microbes & Infections has launched an open Article Collection focused on the outbreak. The collection will remain open for submissions through 2025, with new papers added once they are published online.

All manuscripts submitted to this Article Collection will undergo a full peer-review.

Please review the journal scope and author submission instructions prior to submitting a manuscript.

The deadline for submitting manuscripts is 31 December 2025.
