Special Issue: Call for Contributions
40 Years of Research and Development in Higher Education: Responding to Complexity and Ambiguity
Editors: Stephen Marshall, Wendy Green, and Susan Blackley
In recognition of the 40 years that Higher Education Research and Development will have been in operation, the Editors have decided to dedicate a Special Issue to papers that consider our scholarship over this time.
We invite submissions that engage with the history of higher education research as represented by 40 years of papers published in the journal. As well, we will be approaching the authors of the papers that have had the most impact for our readership to consider publishing reflections on their work. We would like to mark the various watershed moments that have impacted higher education, particularly over the last decade, and acknowledge the complexity, change and ambiguity that have challenged the sector.
This is an important anniversary for the journal. We look forward to celebrating our long relationship with the field and with our readers and authors.
If you are interested in submitting to the special issue, please submit an expression of interest, expected final manuscript word count, and a 500–1000 word extended abstract by the 15th of March 2021 to the editors Stephen Marshall ([email protected]) and Wendy Green ([email protected]). Once these have been accepted, the editors will share the list with contributors to encourage possible collaborations and/or coordination.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE for full articles is 30th April 2021 – see HERD’s submission requirements here.
